Webcams suck!
Whilst they are good for a purpose...it's just not fair that the Mount Main Beach webcam seems to be stuck on a relentless, hot-looking, sunny day - nice 'lil waves, girls in bikinis...but you haven't got the Beck, or the Foresters with the scrapping 60 year old men, 24 hour football, celebrity big brother with Barrymore crying every 5 minutes - and the cheap Paris Hilton lookalike (Paris Travelodge), Hedgerow Officers whose only purpose is to settle disputes about hedge-shading! and the two old ladies in the Pope-Mobiles that follow each other around (they are actually mobility scooters with plastic sides to keep the rain out). The English are scraping the bottle of the gene pool....and there's no lifeguard about!
Off on a week of junket coastal conferences this week, Leeds tomorrow about Strategic Environmental Assessment, London Wed/Thu about 'Coastal futures' - basically a long winded free lunch (i'll do whatever it takes!). This one'll be a ripper, we get to listen to the English talk about introducing a bill to consolidate all the others!
Memoirs of a Geisha is a great movie. Bring back pre-war times - it was a man's life, geisha's were there to entertain us! Brilliant! And then the Yanks droppped the bomb and unloaded a few hundred thousand GIs and ruined it all...soound familiar?
